SUNSET PARK (MAIN DISTRIBUTION CENTER)
St. Jacobi Church is our main distribution center. Please come any time after 10am to help out. Bring a vehicle and gas if you can! Cars will be taking volunteers, food and supplies to the Rockaways throughout the day.
We will be transporting volunteers and supplies from St Jacobi Church in Sunset Park to impacted areas throughout the day. We prefer that new volunteers come to Sunset Park if possible so that we can route you to the locations with the greatest need, rather than going directly to one of the volunteer sites.
To catch a ride to Sunset Park, vehicles will be leaving from the following Brooklyn locations at 10am and 1pm.
Please arrive a little before the hour as cars will be leaving on time!

Park slope armory needs overnight volunteers to assist with displaced elderly patients. They also have needs for food for volunteers (fruit, veggie platters, pizzas, snacks, delivery food etc). They may still have needs for XL and above sweatshirts, pants, underwear, socks, and various sizes of belts.

JASA is looking for volunteers to help seniors trapped in their apartments as well as those who have not received their regular meal deliveries due to the storm. Volunteers should be willing to carry supplies up 7-20 flights of stairs. Please contact Jacob Stolar (details below).

Meet in front of the 350.org offices at the sidewalk mural. We’ll take a photo, then fan out into teams to help out where help is needed, working with our friends at Occupy Sandy. Please bring cleaning supplies.

Rockaway Waterfront Alliance
Need volunteers to: knock on people’s doors, help distributing meals, setting up a restaurant-style food station in the firehouse, digging people’s cars out of the sand, helping people get in and out of the Rockaways, etc. Keep in mind: there is NO electricity, access to gas, etc. But volunteers are urgently needed 24/7!

We will be working out of the Crossroads location as a place from which to organize then deliver by car/bike: food, cleaning supplies, towels, snacks, and information to residents in Midland Beach, New Dorp, Oakwood, Great Kills.
We will be canvassing the community to figure out larger scale community needs including generators, tree removal, pumping, and other needs. Needs: car and bike deliverers, co-pilots, servers.

Staten Island clean-up (Saturday 11/3)
On Saturday at 9am, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis will be holding a clean-up in Staten Island. People will gather at the end of New Dorp Lane and Cedar Grove Avenue which is located just east of New Dorp High School (465 New Dorp Lane). Volunteers should bring any tools that may have (rakes, shovels, push brooms, work gloves, trash bags). Those who are unable to work the clean-up can donate equipment (brooms, rakes, garbage bags, shovels) at Monsignor Farrell High School at 2900 Amboy Road.
