Thankgiving!

Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York remains one of the most affected areas by Hurricane Sandy. To bring some joy and support to the people there, community activist and writer Kevin Powell is asking for your help leading into Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 22nd:

1) We need to collect 2000 turkeys to be donated to residents of Coney Island. Fresh turkeys can be dropped off or shipped to:

Coney Island Generation Gap
2904 Neptune Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11224

If dropping off turkeys, please do so on these dates and times at the address above:
Tuesday, November 20 – 12noon-2pm
Wednesday, November 21 – 12noon-2pm

2) Also, 40-50 volunteers needed to distribute the turkeys on these dates and times:
Tuesday, November 20 – 12noon-3pm
Wednesday, November 21 – 12noon-3pm

3) Finally, there is still a great need for as many warming/heating pads and blankets as possible, as many residents in Coney Island remain without heat. These items can also be dropped off or shipped to the address above.
