The Haitian American Caucus (HAC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a platform to empower Haitians and Haitian Americans in New York, is hosting a holiday party on Dec. 15 that’ll feature innovative ways to celebrate the holidays with your children during these hard times.

“The purpose of this party is to increase ways in which parents and caregivers can support their children’s emotional, physical and social development in a fun interactive way despite their crisis,” HAC said.

Family to Family Program Helps Sandy Victims for the Holiday Season

This holiday, Queens Mamas.com is starting the Family to Family program. The program has one goal in mind: to bring one family together with another.
Local families from areas affected by Hurricane Sandy will be matched up with individuals and volunteer families in local NYC areas to work toward making this holiday season one of joy and remembrance for all. Affected families need only fill out their name and contact information in order to be matched with a volunteer who can help them with gifts, decorations, services, food, and any other specific needs. For volunteers, the only two qualifications for being a part of this program are a big heart, and an open schedule. Continue reading

Good News we have found a location for our Holiday Toy Store

Good News we have found a location for our Holiday Toy Store.

Thanks to the generosity of the Amalgamated Transit Union 726 who are loaning us the location it will be located at 3948 Amboy Road (the old Venizia’s Pork Store) in Great Kills.
We are finalizing the details and plan to have the store stocked and ready to open next Saturday.
We will need volunteers to staff the store. Please spread the word….
